Fair as a star when only one is shining in the sky

Neil Hannon did not play this when I saw him in Manchester. He did play an amazing Blue Monday interlude in At the Indie Disco and the show was everything I imagined. The Thoroughly Modern Male earned every bit of his keep with that evening. This is still my favourite song by The Divine Comedy.

Not only that, but it prompted me to memorize the Wordsworth, She dwelt among untrodden ways, which this song is reorganised from. I recited it once, in Newcastle, to a man who fell in love with me.

The feelings were unreturned, but the memory remains dear.
